How to use

 

■About Sessions 

・In general, sessions at the AWC are to be reserved in advance

・One regular session is 45 minutes long. However, the lunch time session is only 30 minutes long.

・You can utilize either a face-to-face session at the AWC or an online session

 

■How to make a reservation 

The following are two ways to make a reservation for a session at the writing center:

①   Make online reservations through the AWC website

②   Make a walk-in reservation at the AWC

■Reservation rules

・You cannot designate a specific tutor

・You can reserve and hold up to 3 sessions.

・Upon finishing a session, you can make another reservation

・You can reserve 2 sessions per day. However, reservations for two consecutive sessions are not possible

・You can make reservations up to 3 weeks in advance

・As a general rule, only one writer and one text can be consulted in a single session

・After 25 minutes from the session start time, you will not be able to reserve, change, or cancel that slot

・If you would like to use a last-minute slot after the session start time, please come to the AWC

・Reservations cannot be made by phone. If you do not understand how to make a reservation, please come to the AWC and ask the staff

・Please submit the text you would like to discuss at the time of reservation. Your tutor will be able to look through it in advance, which will make for a better session

・Please attach the text as a text file (.docx, .pdf, etc.) rather than an image file (.jpeg, .png)

 

■Request for when visiting the AWC 

・You are recommended to bring your paper as a printed copy,or laptop, tablet, smart phone, etc.

・Before the due dates of reports to be submitted, sessions may be fully booked. We recommend making reservations early

 

■Notice

・The Academic Writing Center supports your writing processes. However, if you have questions regarding the academic content of papers, please address these questions to your professors or instructors.(Ex. investigation method, analysis method, etc.) 

・Although the AWC is careful to maintain the quality of tutoring sessions, final decisions on revisions are in the students’ hands. Therefore, please note that the AWC will not be held responsible for related outcomes such as final grades received on writing assignments brought in for consultations.
